You wonder why i say this, well firstly I was terribly frustrated that we were kicked out of the LAN and the Library yesterday. In order to deceive my fellow African students I joined the strike ( to make myself seem less of a traitor) but in mind I was not there, I had my earphones to calm me down because I was thinking about the assignment I was suppose to do.
Another interesting thing is that I could hear news reports about the strike while I was in the strike. It was so interesting to hear the radio news reporter report very edited things about the strike while I knew and was experiencing the whole full thing.
So either escaping a situation with you earphones you can also have the advantage of hearing news reports early than many people who would wait till the 7pm news to get the latest scoop. Radio news is more current than television news, so listening wearing your earphones doesn't mean you are listening music only, but the individual might be also listening to the radio and the news which normally come on hourly.
